UNDER THE DIRECTION OF THE FASHION HOUSE MEDITERRANEAN AND THE FRENCH COMMITTEE OF COLOR, HOSTED INTERCOLORENCOUNTERS, WITH THE AIM OF IMAGINING AND DEFINING THE COLORS
Intercolor is a research center for color, a collective of great diversity that brings together 16 member countries. Each country represents an organization, association or group of designers, but also institutes or universities.
Under the Intercolor brand, creative minds gather to discuss colors, their changes and developments. All work in the field of design and color, and deal with trends, fashion, textiles or materials development, in diverse and varied industrial sectors.
The Intercolor story began in 1963, with the massive industrialization of ready-to-wear and a rapid development of fashion that created an international need to communicate. The founding countries are Japan, Switzerland and France, then the collective gradually spreads to evolve into a large interactive workshop, whose colors and harmonies are at the center of research.
For this edition, Intercolor settled in Marseille and the research was conducted around the theme "Color, Sport, Fashion & Innovation". The exchange was articulated through the point of view of various actors in the fashion and sports sector, but also the different cultures present.
What is interesting in the Intercolor approach is diversity. This is what we saw in the first part of this conference, where each country representative came to share his vision on the theme of color in sport, thanks to short videos that showed how much this discipline can be treated differently from one country to another.
The goal was to observe how color fits in a global way, in a creative, industrial and distribution process. Today, it is also very largely rooted in the world of sport and if before, it was especially patriotic, it is now primarily a symbol of modernity and becomes a message carrier. The color in the sport is exciting and becomes a formidable vector of expression.
WHAT IS INTERESTING IN THE INTERCOLOR APPROACH IS DIVERSITY. THIS IS WHAT WE SAW IN THE FIRST PART OF THIS CONFERENCE, WHERE EACH COUNTRY REPRESENTATIVE CAME TO SHARE HIS VISION ON THE THEME OF COLOR IN SPORT.
