Meet Erik A. from Dominic Models, the face of the new season of Climber. The successful model who is shown as one of the new representatives of the androgen trend that had the fashion world under its spell, is seen as the stunning new name after the example of Andrej Pejic. We had the chance to have a chat with Erik who sticks to your mind with his misty and melancholic eyes during the shoots at Fabrika Studios in Istanbul Maslak.

&ldquoThere is no Definition of Beauty&rdquo

What is the biggest reality you learned in this industry?

The only thing I learned from this industry is that the work takes time. One of the most inspiring things that Jason has told me was that "Rome was not built in one day." He is so right about this, because it takes time to develop yourself as a model. If you do not take an offer, you cannot take this seriously or personal. I love my job because it allows me to do something exciting and new. I think it is important the deal with the jobs one by one.

What do people think about you? What is the dominant side of your character?

Sometimes modeling may be taken too seriously. The only thing I want people to know about me is that I am more than stunning. I want people to know me more than just a picture, to know about my life. I find inspiration everywhere and always want to inspire people with the work I do.

"Studio is very exciting and the team is amazing. The designs are really impressive. Stylish stuff, great combinations and the most importantly wearability! Indeed, these are very comfortable clothes."

What about shooting an editorial? Can you tell us from the point of a model?

Editorial shootings are great, but you shouldn't just rely on them for big amounts of money. I like working as a part of the Editorial. Because the photographer is dying to reflect the story in his mind, therefore I must ensure that this is realized. For me, it is an opportunity to become a character in a story. It is important to change while creating the character.

What do you think about the Climber's shooting and designs? Could you shortly tell us what you think?

Ten out of 10, I would certainly give 10 points! Everything is very professional. From the moment I got off the plane, I was greeted and welcomed very well. Studio is very exciting and the team is amazing. The designs are really impressive. Stylish stuff, great combinations and the most importantly wearability! Indeed, these are very comfortable clothes.

Is it easy to deal with this kind of work?

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. It would be a lie to say that I am not competitive and that I would not want to get the job for each offer I get. I am and I want to, but I also have to be realistic. If you were chosen to take part in an underwear campaign in the same season, you cannot be in any other. Sometimes you get a job offer and you accept it. On the day of the shooting, you get another offer that you cannot say no, but your commitment to another contract does not allow you to do it. And just at that moment, honesty gets you and you just sit back and feel grateful that you have a job that you need to complete. And hope that you are in a campaign shoot for the next season as well.

Dozens of designers, dozens of photographers. Everyone has amazing ideas. How does this intense and creative environment effect you?

This is the best thing about this industry. All of these great artists and designers compete for that the new and hot look and push the boundaries to make their works perfect. And this boundary becomes what all the people in the world wear and do. I cannot tell you how wonderful it is to be a part of this. This is something you have to discover on your own.

What does the word "Excellence" mean?

You mean what "perfection" means for a model? This is a very difficult question... For me, perfection is something I have to work really hard for, but at the same time it is the desire to have the impossible.

What do you think about plastic surgery and all this pursuit of beauty?

Aesthetic surgery scares me! (Laughs) I think the time allocated to Photoshop in a day is sad. It is as if a false image created. If it was up to me, I wouldn't let my photographs used that way. If you don't really look like the person in the photograph, what kind of a model are you? The real beauty is inside.

What is your definition of beauty? Do you find yourself beautiful?

There is no definition of beauty. Even though there are some similarities, everyone is different from each other. But everyone likes different types. So, I cannot define beauty. Because you may not find think that what I find beautiful is beautiful.

What is your diet like? There must be one!

I don't follow a diet. But most of my model friends like to consume healthy and organic foods. For this reason, I usually follow them! All the food I eat is a good choice! (Laughs)

What is the most prominent characteristic?

Hmm... I don't know that. You must ask this question to the people who know me!

So many projects, so many flights. How do you manage that?

This is the part of the work. You have to get used to it. But I also must say that it is very difficult and boring!

Tell us an ordinary working day.

You get up early and you don't have time to have breakfast. You go to the studio and have some snacks while waiting. They do your hair and make up. You get dressed and begin! (Laughs) This is a slow process. So you have to be patient and not act impatiently.
